Ambient Executive FunctionAn AI ops layer for an ADHD brain · Juanita Soranno

← jsoranno.com

I didn't build apps. I built an ops layer.

An always-on operations layer watches my work surfaces — and lets me capture on the go from my watch and phone — then hands me a low-overwhelm view plus ready-to-review drafts. The parts of executive function that don't come for free run on their own, and I get to be present. Every agent maps to a cognitive deficit, not a feature.

The four costs · executive function is a tax I pay every day

Working memory

Context scattered across 4 calendars, Gmail, Slack, Zoom.

Task initiation

Knowing where to start when everything shouts equally loud.

Time blindness

Losing billable hours because I can't reconstruct Tuesday by Friday.

Prospective memory

Remembering to do the future thing — chase the agenda, kill the resource.

Ambient signals · what the world throws at me

Google Calendar ×4 Gmail Slack Zoom AI Companion Harvest HPS plan (Sheets) macOS activity

Capture on the go · what I throw in

Crosswalk — Apple Watch quick-log Saved from Social — iOS share Voice notes

Dictate or share from anywhere → Claude parses & enriches → lands in brain.db. Capture built for a brain that has the thought while walking, not at a desk.

Orchestration · Pat

Single point of contact. Routes every task to the right specialist role and synthesizes the result — never does the work himself. New capabilities = new roles, not new dashboards to learn.

Memory · brain.db

One local source of truth — contacts, meetings, projects, journal, time — instead of context scattered across email, Notion, and notebooks.

Present — not managing the machinery.

Guardrails · every agent obeys (why it's safe to run unattended)

Draft, never auto-send Confirm before delete / overwrite / rename Warm prose, action-first — not bullet soup Dated files (YYYY-MM-DD), append never overwrite

What actually reaches me · low-overwhelm surfaces

Cadence — when it fires Executive-function deficit it catches AI judgment under the hood

Ship It

Here's the honest version: I generate ideas faster than I ship them. So I turned the backlog into a game. The board below is real — what I've shipped is face-up; what's queued is locked. Flip a locked idea to ship it, watch the points land, and see how far up the levels you can take me. (Lightly curated — the family and finance experiments stay private.)
